WHY LEGALLY REMOTE AND WHAT IS IT EXACTLY?

Hi, I’m Ana-Maria, attorney and member of the Bucharest Bar Association since 2014, with over a decade of legal experience. While living in Lisbon between 2017 and 2019, I saw firsthand how underserved digital entrepreneurs were, especially as the European Union began introducing a wave of new regulations.

During that time, I immersed myself in their communities, listened to their challenges, and realized how I, as an attorney, could provide meaningful support.

That insight led to the creation of Legally Remote - a practice dedicated to making the legal world more accessible and supportive for digital entrepreneurs, who often take significant risks in pursuit of freedom and values like happiness.

My foundation in International Private Law, Commercial Law, and Creative Contracts comes from my experience at a prestigious Romanian law firm and my work as an independent legal practitioner. Since earning my law degree from the University of Bucharest, I’ve pursued advanced studies, including an LL.M. in International Contracts, Arbitration, and Compliance at the University of Fribourg, Switzerland. I also completed a research year at Nova University of Lisbon, supported by a Foundation of Science and Technology scholarship.

Entrepreneurship has always been a personal passion, which is why I’ve complemented my legal expertise with an MBA from the INDE program at Bucharest Business School in partnership with CNAM, Paris, as well as certifications in entrepreneurship from institutions like MIT, Delft University, and Blue Ocean Strategy.

Since 2020, I’ve had the honor of representing Romania as the Ambassador for the European Legal Tech Association (ELTA). In 2023, I became ELTA’s Vice President and will continue to support its growth as an Advisory Board Member from 2025.

At Legally Remote, I combine my legal knowledge with a business-focused mindset to help digital entrepreneurs, startups, and technology companies navigate legal complexities, ensure compliance, and address risks.

My expertise includes drafting and negotiating software licensing agreements, IT service contracts, NDAs, and other business agreements. I provide practical, tailored advice to clients across industries such as SaaS, e-commerce, med-tech, real estate, circular economy, and online platforms.

Beyond my legal practice, I’m deeply involved in mentoring startups through programs like Rubik Garage and Rubik Hub’s Scale to USA initiative, helping them structure their businesses and understand legal risks. I also remain committed to innovation in legal tech, bridging the Romanian and European ecosystems as part of my work with ELTA.

Fluent in English and proficient in French and Portuguese, I bring an international perspective to my work. With a strong eye for detail and a commitment to clarity, I aim to make the law accessible and actionable for my clients. At Legally Remote, I’ve built a network of highly skilled professionals to offer comprehensive legal services, giving entrepreneurs the freedom to focus on growing their businesses with confidence.

My clients consistently find that the value they receive from my services is worth the investment. I approach every client relationship with transparency, dedication, and a passion for finding solutions that align with their business goals in today’s fast-paced digital environment.

What does Adrian bring to Legally Remote?

After earning an LL.B. and an LL.M. in Private Law from Babeș-Bolyai University, Adrian pursued a second LL.M. at Penn State Law in the United States, focusing on international dispute resolution - particularly arbitration - as well as U.S. and cross-border commercial transactions. Dual bar admissions in both civil and common law systems reflect Adrian's ability to navigate legal matters across these widely used legal systems.

Throughout his career, Adrian has represented clients in high-stakes disputes across the construction, infrastructure, energy, and technology industries. He has been part of teams of counsel appearing before international arbitral tribunals, advised on economic sanctions and emerging technologies, and contributed to industry research through publications on arbitration and other topics.

Adrian believes that good legal work is not just about solving problems but also about preventing them. He invests time upfront to anticipate risks and structure agreements that address potential issues before they escalate. With meticulous attention to detail, he recognizes that many disputes arise from minor oversights or vague wording that initially seemed harmless.

In addition, Adrian adopts a business-minded approach, putting himself in the client’s shoes to identify practical, creative solutions where others might see obstacles. He prioritizes keeping clients informed, recognizing that timely updates foster trust and clarity. Adrian also advocates using plain language in client communications and legal documents whenever possible, ensuring legal concepts remain accessible and understandable.
